To our BSP NOVA family,
Health and safety are always among our top priorities at Beyond Strength Performance NOVA. We are closely watching updates from trusted healthcare organizations and governmental recommendations about COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and will continue to keep you informed.
We know that some of you may be wondering if you’re at increased risk by attending the gym, and a few days ago we shared an article from TIME about whether or not you should avoid the gym during the Coronavirus Outbreak. In short, the answer is no, due to how the virus is spread, as well as how often gyms are cleaned. If you’d like to see the full article, you can do so here:

That being said, we are taking steps to prevent the spread of any viruses within our facility:
- While we have always done daily cleaning and disinfection of our surfaces and equipment multiple times throughout the day, including wiping down all benches, handles, grips, etc., you will now hear an alarm going off each hour during business hours to cue our coaches to wipe everything down, ensuring that this does not ever get missed.
- We always have and will continue to have the gym deep cleaned by a professional cleaning crew every Wednesday evening and Sunday afternoon.
- We have been and will continue to provide commercial grade disinfecting equipment wipes (located in the white bucket near the plyo boxes) so that members can also wipe down any equipment after using it.
- We have been and will continue to provide hand sanitizer (located by the entrance).
- And of course the bathrooms will continue to remain stocked with hand soap as well.
And, for your reference, here is the guidance from the CDC on staying healthy:
- Wash your hands thoroughly and use alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Stay home when you’re sick and encourage family to do the same.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, throw the tissue in the trash, and immediately wash your hands. No tissue? Cough or sneeze into your elbow, not your hands.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
As many of you know, I’m a liiiiiittle OCD when it comes to the cleanliness of our facility. We will continue to uphold our standard of cleanliness and safety and add any protective measures that make sense for you, our BSP NOVA family.
Thanks everyone for continually trusting us with your health and fitness, and helping to keep our facility and environment as safe and clean as possible.
Best,
Chris Merritt
