Tommy started his fitness journey during his senior year of high school, but his passion for health and fitness really took off during his sophomore year of college. He attended James Madison University (JMU) to study kinesiology, which seemed like an easy choice since it fulfilled his desire to do work serving others using his passion for fitness and health. Tommy interned from his spring semester of junior year up until he graduated working with JMU’s Football, Women’s Lacrosse, Swim and Dive, Men and Women’s Tennis, Cross Country, Track and Field, and Men and Women’s Soccer teams.
After graduating from JMU with a B.S. in Exercise Science, along with his CSCS and USAW, Tommy started work as a strength and conditioning coach at a private gym, where he coached for a year before moving on to his current endeavors. He currently works as a strength coach here at BSP NOVA, a personal trainer at OneLife Fitness in Brambleton, and does coaching through his online business, Strength in King.
He likes to spend his free time attempting not to get sun burned on hikes, hanging out with his dog Dottie, and spending time with his family. He also spends far too much on his sock collection—but that’s neither here nor there.
