You’re excited! You want to soak in all of the education that you can, and sock these transformation goals in the mouth! But your continual pursuit of self-education is exactly what’s holding you back.
Hear us out before you lose it on us…
We’re all for education, but there needs to be a method to the madness approach. We know that you have the best of intent when it comes to soaking in all of the information that you can about nutrition and exercise, but you don’t have a filter.
Let’s pretend for a minute that you wake up and your hand is black and blue.
You have no recollection of an injury, and nothing out of the ordinary happened last night.
You immediately jump on the internet and WebMD the following: “unexplained bruising on hand”
These are some of your results of potential causes:
- A medicine, such as aspirin or blood thinners (anticoagulants).
- Infection that causes the buildup of toxin in the blood or tissues (sepsis).
- A bleeding or clotting disorder, such as hemophilia, von Willebrand’s disease, thrombocytopenia, or another less common bleeding or clotting disorder.
- Other diseases that affect clotting. Examples include:
- Chronic inflammatory diseases, such as lupus.
- Liver disease, such as cirrhosis.
- Some types of cancer, such as Hodgkin’s disease, leukemia, or multiple myeloma.
- Inflammation of a blood vessel (vasculitis).
- Malnutrition, such as deficiencies of vitamins B12, C, or K, or folic acid.
Next thing you know you’re calling your friends and family to let them know that you have von Willebrand’s disease and probably won’t be able to make it to the dinner they had planned for tonight.
That sounds RIDICULOUS, right?
How could you possibly navigate that information and accurately figure out what caused the bruising?!
If you’re a logical human being you would hopefully contact your doctor so that you could get a proper diagnosis.
Why?
Because your doctor has a filter: their level of expertise.
Why should it be any different with your fitness and transformation goals?
Think of your goal… got it?
Now hop on the good ol’ internets, and Google solutions to reach your goal- we’ll wait.
I’m willing to bet that you just wound up with some conflicting information, right?
Sure you could navigate this on your own, try one, and see what happens. But those other solutions are going to nag at you.
A few days pass by, you don’t think that this one is working, and it’s on to the next one.
A few more days, and nope, you’re beginning to think this might not be the solution either.
It’s an endless cycle, and you’re frustrated!
But there’s a better way!
Like your doctor, a great coach can deliver results without the stress of you having to navigate all of the information on your own.
The health and fitness world is a confusing one, and without the right filter (i.e. experience and a solid education) you can spin your wheels and get no where in the process.
So what am I to do??!
Save yourself the hassle and hire a coach!
Once you do, trust the process.
Limit your own self-education, at least for the time being.
If you’re working with a great coach, they’ll measure results, tweak along the way as needed, and you’ll finally be well on your way to crushing your fitness and transformation goals!
